About Me
I’m Karen Bermudez, a bilingual, Spanish speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Connecticut. I was born in Puerto Rico and came to the United States at 3 years old. I was raised in Hartford, CT amongst poverty, crime and failing school systems; where socio and economic factors predicted a life of poor education, lack of guidance, and low wages. I was driven to change that outcome and made necessary changes which contributed to my current career as a social worker.
I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in home and office-based settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and trauma. I am devoted to providing support during life transitions and especially fond of addressing and challenging generational cycles that keep people from achieving their full potential.
Life can get in the way of processing and juggling stressors related to work, school and relationships which can leave us feeling burnt out, impacting our mood and energy. It is important to have a safe and private space to discuss these stressors and have an empathetic and understanding support system.
